The Natuna gas field is one of the largest natural reserves in Indonesia with estimated 222 TCF. However, until now, use still hampered because very high CO 2 content reaching 71%, while methane around 28%. dry reforming (DRM) process potential ways to be applied for solving these problems convert CH 4 and synthesis containing H as a raw material that can manufacture intermediate products or end petrochemical industry such acetic acid. simulation acid production was conducted by using ASPEN HYSYS v.10, considering mass heat balances. PengRobinson process. In order produce 496.8 kmol/h acid, 500 each were used feed gas. total energy required 4.7 MMBtu per ton has purity 99.4% concentration ppm methanol, moisture 5,700 ppm.
